A professional association is seeking a highly motivated individual for a multi-faceted Communications and Web Content Manager position.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Communications and Web Content Manager will craft key communications on behalf of the society and will take a leading role in shaping the website and how the society interacts with its members. The ideal applicant will be technologically savvy and have excellent writing, editing & oral presentation skills, passion for the field of transplantation, and prior association experience. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage the website, including drafting and editing content, organizing layout, tracking web trends and liaising with outsource design and hosting firm;
  • Draft communications on behalf of the society president, executive director and other key members and staff;
  • Synthesize complex subject matter into digestible content for presentation on the website, in member emails and other modes of communication as needed (RSS Feeds, Social Media, Mobile, etc.);
  • Manage the production and publication of the online member magazine (3x a year);
  • Work with committees, board members, vendors and others to implement and maintain communications and website content;
  • Serve as staff liaison to the outsourced IT partner and assist with the internal IT needs of the internal staff;
  • Create and maintain a style and brand guide for the society's communications;
  • Serve as the liaison to assigned committees, coordinating activities and providing support as needed to achieve the objectives determined by the leadership;
  • Other duties as assigned; some travel required

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and prioritize amongst multiple projects and deadlines and function within a fast-paced environment with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of current technological tools in website management
  • Awareness of emerging trends in IT
  • Prior experience in an association or professional society preferred
  • Familiarity with HTML a plus
