A national nonprofit seeks a Communications and Marketing Specialist for a part-time position 3 days or up to 21 hours weekly. This job is flexible regarding the particular days of the week. The Communications and Marketing Specialist provides communications and marketing support for programs, products, and initiatives. This is an onsite position in Washington, D.C.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support association marketing and communications initiatives through marketing communications copywriting, public relations, journalistic writing and web writing
  • Support editing and review of content for the website
  • Develop monthly e-blasts to market publications and provide content for other e-newsletters
  • Proofread the bimonthly magazine and journal as well as all major printed pieces for conventions, meetings, and events
  • Write and coordinate the distribution of press releases and statements to the media
  • Evaluate permissions requests and make recommendations
  • Maintain and update direct mail and e-mail lists
  • Track and report statistics for e-mail marketing campaigns Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years experience in an association environment; bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, publications or marketing; excellent writing, copyediting and proofreading skills; a strong publications management background; and ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
