Job Description: Communications Specialist

An association seeks a communications specialist to join our progressive team to write, edit and manage print and online communications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Write and edits monthly e-newsletters, specialized e-newsletters, website content and other print and electronic communications
  • Develops and reviews professional and technical content, and creates original content for association communications
  • Drives news, information and content for association's award-winning website
  • Manages multimedia and social media strategies and efforts
  • Works collaboratively with other internal teams to support communications strategies

Skills/Knowledge

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage and implement multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with e-mail and website content management systems preferred
  • Familiarity with multimedia editing (video, audio) and social media platforms preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or related field
  • Minimum of three years professional experience
  • Experience with association/nonprofit communications a plus
  • Must thrive in a collaborative, team environment
  • Some travel required
