Sponsored content (aka native advertising) is here--and whether you like it or not, it could be a way to gain back some lost advertising dollars.

I was working on an article for Signature recently, and I asked the featured association's editor if she would send me one of her favorite magazine covers to pass along to our designer for the layout. In a subsequent email, she sent me three covers with a note that she "didn't really like any of them," but her art director felt these were the best.

With an estimated 2 million blog posts made daily it seems fair to say that just about everyone has a blog or has at least contributed to one. Well, everyone but me -- this is my first blog post.

My iPad ran out of space when adding some magazines. It got me thinking: If the Internet tablet and the digital magazine are a marriage made in heaven, then why do they often get along more like the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Why do even the most prestigious magazines receive only a 3 out of 5 rating?

During my most recent vacation this summer, I actually got some R&R. At least I went to the part of the cruise ship specifically designated as the relaxation area so that type As like me would know what it was for. Immediately I saw an opportunity for relaxation and research. While cruising on the high seas aboard the Norwegian Star en route to Bermuda, I couldn't resist the urge to investigate how my fellow passengers were "taking in" content.

Is your association publications team contemplating adding a digital magazine to complement your print offering?

An education session I attended at the recent ASAE Membership, Marketing, and Communications Conference had a fun way of discussing the different types of digital personalities we interact with online.
