Penn State Alumni Association: Single Topic Issue of The Penn Stater, January/February 2012 . The daring design of the cover shows a fallen Penn State – literally. The cover's minimalism and all-black palette command your attention. The inside cover features collages that show a community's spectrum of emotions. The juxtaposition between the all-black cover and the inside covers' color photos stand on its own, with no caption needed. The titles mince no words: Collapse. Darkness. Identity. Legacy. Responsibility. Each one draws readers further into the issue. Overall, it's a tremendously effective design on a challenging topic. |
The Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society: General Excellence in Web Publishing for www.BeAnActuary.org. The website is clean, concise and well-branded. It is very readable and navigable, providing useful, well-written information such as toolkits, career opportunities, and other resources. The website masterfully incorporates a video content and social media, making the user's experience highly interactive.
